Brunata produces green electricity by photovoltaic cells

In the village of Kapatovo in Bulgaria, Brunata has installed 2,160 panels on an area of 14,000m2 land. With a capacity of 507.6 kWp it produces enough electricity to run 35 appartments. The electricity is sold to the local company for electricity transmission.

Many hours of sun and a great reduction in CO2 emission
Kapatovo is located in the sunniest part of Bulgaria with 2,510 hours of sunshine on an average. In comparison Sofia has got 2,020 hrs/yr and Sahara in Africa has got 4,000 hrs/yr.

The reduction in CO2 emission compared to the same amount of electricity produced by coal-fired power stations is expected to be approx. 500 t CO2/yr. The cars of the Heat Allocation Accounting department of Brunata Bulgaria OOD in 2009 emitted approx. 30 t CO2.

Brunata's investment supported by the European Bank
The investment in the Brunata voltaic cells is EUR 1.6 million. The project is supported with a grant of 20% from the European Bank for reconstruction and development, as a project for utilization of renewable sources.

The photovoltaic panels were installed in April 2010 in Kapatovo, Bulgaria in 20 days. The photo voltaic cells are expected to last for 25 years. The utilisation diagramme illustrates the expected kWh per month produced by the 2.160 panels.
